The Great North American Solar Eclipse is coming on April 8. The path of totality will cut a wide swath through the United States, giving people from Texas to Maine the rare chance to see a total solar eclipse.

I want to go to my sons house in Uvalde. He is in the direct path. They have been told to be stocked up on food next week. It is going to be very crowded in that part of Texas for a few days.

I was originally planning to drive up in the morning to get there an hour or so before totality but apparently that's not going to work. There will be hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of people on the roads. Now I'm thinking about driving up there during the night, refueling the car immediately in case the gas stations sell out, and finding somewhere to have a meal during the morning.
