Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go....

....what a wonderful book to reintroduce to them as they start back to school...whether its the first day of elementary, middle, high school or even college.

There's also a teeny tiny version called Oh Baby, The Places You'll Go! made just for babies (well, for hormonal, teary-eyed new mamas)..sooo sweet as a shower/baby gift for the dresser in the nursery.

I have several copies! lol

There's a new trend of moms buying the original/big version and writing notes in it about their child every year from birth to 18, then giving it to them on graduation day. Wish I had thought of that!

I know...that is sweet..I had no idea the mothers did that. What a wonderful idea. I was feeling my "empty nest" today and thinking about school starting back. They grow so fast...stepping on your toes one minute...then flying off the next. I was thinking of all the kids getting ready to go off/back to school today for some reason.

I don't know how moms do it. Of course, I want all of my kids to grow their proverbial wings while they're here with us and eventually fly away on their own with everything we've taught them throughout their lives...but I gotta be honest. I'll be a hot mess when we're in the empty nest phase.

My dh will probably shed a sad look for about 11 minutes, then be booking international flights for 2 and remodeling a couple of bedrooms into man caves
