@sandman : I've heard it's due to the natural diet, any wild caught salmon should be that healthy red color. The pink salmon is typically farm raised on a different diet.

@eighteen : I haven't seen tuna yet.

@Floyd : Interesting. Looking it up it seems most of the farm raised salmon is red and the sockeye salmon is red. I was just coming to post that it must be Sockeye. Now I'll be self conscious about my salmon, thanks @Sandman.

@sandman : Maybe it is sockeye salmon? That kind is really red. And really lean.
