According to reports from PCT 4, on October 6, 2018, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 18900 block of Walden Forest Drive in Atascocita in reference to an intoxicated male.
The male advised the deputy he had too much to drink and had nowhere to go. The deputy told the male he would take him to a place he could stay until he sobered up.
The male, identified as Joshua Brown (30, Huffman), made statements indicating that he wanted to hurt himself and pulled out a pocket knife. The deputy grabbed the knife and Brown became combative. The deputy had to eventually deploy his taser to gain control of Brown.
Brown became even more combative when placed in the back of the police car. He injured himself and began spitting blood and saliva at the deputy.
The deputy called for EMS in which they sedated and transported Brown to a hospital for treatment.
"Joshua Brown was charged with Resisting Arrest / Detention with a Deadly Weapon and Harassment of a Public Servant. He received No bond out of the 228th District Court. Once released from the hospital he will be booked into the Harris County Jail" - Constable Mark Herman
