Deputies Arrest Man Accused of Injuring Elderly Victim in Atascocita

On May 8, 2026, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 7000 block of Garnet Hill Lane in reference to a disturbance.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Steven Buss allegedly assaulted an 84-year-old victim, causing pain and visible injury before fleeing the scene.

Deputies quickly located Steven Buss at a nearby business and took him into custody without incident. The elderly victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Steven Buss was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to the Elderly. His bond was set at $30,000 by the 180th District Court.

If i had been the deputy I would have left him un seat belted and driven down Continental Road on the way to the Jail. You don't beat up on the elderly.....Please keep the forums civil. Gray box info Details+Dispute #msg2180491

I wonder what lead up to this. Like, was this random? Was this person just walking down the street and the accused just decided that he wanted to hit someone? It isn't cool no matter what, but I'm just wondering what the circumstances were.
