Crawfish report

Still too early in the season. Cold front this coming weekend won't help.

I can't get behind $11 a pound. 😂

We went to Overall's in New Caney Saturday, $45 for 5 lbs. Still to early for me but DW is a crawfish fiend... they were small but tasty. We got crawfish, shrimp & crab. All pretty good.

I saw a pop up place doing 5lbs for $35. I thought it was expensive, but after seeing many places selling for $11/lb, I changed my mind. Now I'm just waiting for them to do another one. 😂

@JoC65 : As i was driving to crawfish kings we passed that place and I told my son that DW and I went there may years ago and it was more of an Asian place that Cajun. The crawfish were not using louisiana style seasoning and were very gland. Never went back. Likely to try HEB next time. My GoTo is that one place in Porkeys but didnt want to chance that they didn't have crawfish. I could see on the webpage that Crawfish Kings had them. they didnt put that price on the page though. I wonder why.

Swamp Donkey will sell live crawfish for less in smaller quantities than a sack. for my family 10-15lbs is plenty to have leftovers for aey-too-fey the next day. Its still not a bad deal for the walmart crawfish at $15/pound for tail meat(no shell) Get the louisiana sourced one and you dont get the funny frozen plastic tasting one like the cheaper ones from china.
