" Some people go to Costco for its $1.50 hot dogs, others for its $179 Ozempic prescriptions." That is super misleading. The $179 is for 3 months of some health plan, which is not insurance. The cost of the medication is not included. They state this much further down the article so idk why they would say that. "The cost of medication is not included in the $179 three-month plan, and Sesame warned on its website that without insurance, GLP-1s can cost between $950 and $1,600 per month."
Probably the worst drug to come onto the market since Vioxx. And so many using it. I can recognize users by the look on their faces once they've been on it. They don't look natural at all.

@Genx65 :
I was on Ozempic of 3 years. I never had any side effects other than some stomach problem due to my own doings. My face never changed. I did loss about 15 lbs. Now I am on Manjouro. That has dropped my A1C to 5.4 from 8.7 and I have dropped 100 lbs in 15 months.

Mother-in-law takes this and her numbers have come down and she's lost weight. No side effects for her.
@KRAM :
You're one of the few. There were people that didn't die taking Vioxx too, but that doesn't negate the fact that it was a dangerous drug that killed a ton of people. There's bad stuff going on with that medication. And losing weight because of medication doesn't make one healthy if they live the same lifestyle they lived prior to the meds. I'd not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Ozempic has more pronounced side effects than any drug in modern American history. 80% of users experience chronic nausea. 😵â€ðŸ’«
30% of users experience frequent vomiting 🤮
Black box warning on thyroid cancer 🚨
EU investigation into suicidal ideationâ—ï¸ I PERSONALLY know people I love that had severe stomach issues, and some are having residual paralysis of the gut. It will be recalled. People have to get away from thinking a drug (DRUG!!) will make them healthy.

Not to mention the cost and that people gain the weight back when they discontinue

I am using it as a tool. I have completely changed my eating habits. Monday through Friday I eat a cup and a half of fruit. For breakfast I have 4 strawberries, a few handful of blueberries, one orange, and about 2 oz of cheese for protein. For lunch I have the same thing but add 2 slices of roasted turkey. Then I have a small dinner. Even by the end of the week and the shot has warn off I will still get full after a kids meal size meal. On the weekend I will only eat 2 meals a day. Over eating is a mind game now. I have to cut my food in Half if we go out or I will over eat and I feel so bad if I do.
@RajunCajun: I changed to my wife's insurance just for this reason. It cost me $25 for 3 months of shots. On my insurance it was $600 a month.

Exactly........do they plan on taking the drug for the rest of their lives? If not......here comes the weight gain again.

At first I was going to be that person but I have made changes to make sure I am not one of them. First I was thinking my stomach was shrinking with not eating as much but what really happens is with this medication you take 4 to 6 times long to digest the food you eat. It just sits in your stomach and every time you eat you just add to it. That means your stomach is not shrinking. That is the main cause of the stomach problems to much food sitting in for so long. That is what made me sick about once a week. So in Jan. of this year I stopped eat what I would normally eat and started to fruit. I have not been sick this year. In fact I feel better and have been more active then I have for the past 20 years. I even got on a bike for the first time in over 20 years this past weekend. I did not ride but 2 miles but because of this medication and the weight loss I am changing my life. I even took the dogs to the dag park and walked the track 8 time in the same morning. I would not have done that a little over a year ago.
Much like the stomach bypass and bands they all come with some chances of problems. It is a risk some have to take. I have seen people lose so much weight because of surgery but gain it back a few years later. They did not change their life, they just used it for a quick fix. My goal is to be off this medication in the next year or two.
