Constable Canine Captures Evading Suspect
On November 10, 2022, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in 12500 block of Will Clayton Parkway. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit.
During the pursuit, the driver lost control and crashed. The driver and passenger exited the vehicle both armed with firearms and fled the scene on foot.
A police perimeter was set and with the assistance of Constable Canine Max, the suspect was located hiding at a construction site, still armed with a handgun. Constable Canine Max captured the suspect and he was identified as 17 year old, Darien Martin. Further investigation revealed that the handgun was reported stolen.
"Darien Martin was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor vehicle and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His bond and court information have not been set at this time. The passenger was not located but a possible identification was obtained and charges are pending upon further investigation." - Constable Mark Herman
