@cousindan : I don't do pot lucks. Run into too many people who use their sink as a mixing bowl.

@ParksideRes : No it's not illegal. Texas passed a law called the cottage law. You are able to sell food out of your home. As long as you don't sell more than $50,000 worth a year you're are good

@Maxsmom : oh it's a hell of a lot more regulation than just under 50k. ONLY what's listed in link above is allowed.

@ParksideRes : I didn't see seafood on the list

@Maxsmom : exactly, so it's disallowed.It requires refrigeration. It's "meat".

I hear all the time about people that cook Mexican food out of their home or seafood out of their home or pralines is out of their home or tamales out of their home and I haven't heard anyone around here they got sick from it. I have heard people going to Taco Bell they got sick or went to Chipotle and got sick. Several other restaurants around here also

@Maxsmom : because it's so rare people actually buy this stuff. Plus people will blame ANY illness on fastfood very quickly. It's convenient.

@Maxsmom : Yeah. I figure home cooking is just as good as at a restaurant.

@RajunCajun : when it comes to cajun cooking, it's better! Every cajun place I have been to here has been crap since Zachary's closed. Going to Rouxpour in a couple of weeks - we will see how that is.

@mastiffrex : I have my own Cajun cook so no worries in this household. lol. His gumbo is to-die-for. Papa's seafood has some seafood dishes that are Cajun. I noticed that they have shrimp po-boys. I love having a shrimp po-boy from time to time. I haven't tried theirs yet, but I have that on my list of to -trys.

@RajunCajun : did it, not so great but I prefer oyster po-boys. Do like Papa's Seafood though, nice fried platters

@mastiffrex : My best friend used to live in Sugarland and we would go to Rouxpour down there. I thought it was very good. It that the restaurant you are speaking of?
