You'd be hard pressed to name a state park in Texas that I haven't been to, or Arkansas and some of Oklahoma. Most of the National Parks across the country. I grew up camping every chance we could with a family of 7! Our first trip was camped inside of our station wagon and went all through Colorado like that. My dad slept in the front seat, My Mom and two sisters slept on the fold down bench seats in the back on an air mattress. My youngest sister and I slept on a little bench he had built up over the end of the bench seat fold down area. My mom had curtains made that went around the inside of the car for privacy. In the mornings my dad would get up and start a fire, then mom would start getting us dressed inside the car, braiding hair and doing up pony's. People camped around us in actual tents and such got quite a kick out of doing the head count as 5 little girls came out of the car and finally my mom!
Since then I've camped in every type of tent and trailer they make. Nowadays at my age I roll out in a big *** RV with all the comforts of home.
I think though that nothing is better than cooking and eating breakfast outside in the woods. Just the simple stuff is still the best stuff!
