I went through this with an elderly neighbor. It's just so hard for me to wrap my head around (I'm borderline-excessive about clutter and organization), but it does exist. And it's heartbreaking.An in-law, on the other hand, joked about leaving her hoard (which, in the case, is an absolutely appropriate word) so all of us could "pick what we wanted." And that's what she did. It was a complete nightmare. 🖕🏻🤷🏼‍♀️Good job being gentle with your MIL, @West-Tex ... I know it's not easy. 💕

@West-Tex : No, this isn't the original price. Four years ago it was $250/mo. It is a climate-controlled unit because it has some delicate items (pictures, etc.). A lot of those belonged to my in-laws, but SIL wants them. I need to ask her for 1/2 of the rent, or she needs to come into town and get them out. Some of the items are collectables that belonged to DH.

We have been talking about getting this done for years and thank God we are done! I ordered a VCR Saturday and I'm going to go through the family tapes!

@Maxsmom : Yeah. That's what I was thinking! It would have waited until fall if it was me and it didn't have a/c.

@West-Tex : Going through the family tapes will be a lot of fun. We did that years ago and my family-including my kids-had a great time seeing me in action as a kid. They were laughing with me and at me. They were especially laughing AT my dance recital videos.

Is that what storage is going for now? The last one I had was a 10 x12 in climate control for $ 75.00 a month and I thought that was high,
