Anyone else at the HEB Atascocita this morning when they took down the Valentine balloon display. After popping about 10 balloons in rapid succession, that's right things got a bit wild, but quickly calmed down when realized it was only balloons. Calmer heads prevailed and the display was taken outside into the parking lot for further dismantling

Whoa! That must have been scary for customers. In today's world sounds of gunshots send everybody running for their lives.

I've NEVER thought a balloon sounded like gunfire. Not even close to me .

Actually after thinking about it, why didn't they just give the balloons away to kids in the store? Seems wasteful to pop them.

At least they didn't release the balloons to the sky. Really irks me when people do that at memorials. Like throwing plastic bags out your window.

@texas2011 : Me, too. I wish that we could get people to stop doing this. Plant a garden, plant a tree, donate to a charity in memoriam. What the heck does a balloon release do? Even butterfly releases can be problematic if butterflies that aren't indigenous to the area are released.
