What is the actual speed limit on FM-1960 between Atascocita and Humble? Didn't it used to be 50 when it was 4 lanes? And now with 6 lanes it's posted at 45. Why?

Looks like TxDoT lowered the speed limit. Don't worry, from what I can tell the speed limit is 55-60 mph.

It was 55 years ago, then they lowered it to 45, then back up to 50. The 45 now is for construction.

@MrsT :
Construction is over. New permanent signs have been installed with the lower limit.....

@Smokeybear :
Very lame. The real 45 signs have been up for a few years though I thought.
But I guess if you speed now and it's not designated a construction zone you won't get the extra fine. 😂

I believe that's a "flexible speed-limit" area....All depends on whether there are any cops around....
