Did mine online last night. Mine didn't expire unti 12/2021 but I got a letter that said to do it before October to beat the rush. $25 later, I'm being sent my new license with the old picture.

It is pure laziness for those 20 % that haven't done it. You have been warned so there is no excuse. I understand if yours doesn't expire for a bit, but there will a big crunch the closer it gets to the deadline. You can get it early! I hope airports have big signs at the entrances and through check points telling everyone! But it will be bad in October when the change begins!

I never got a letter about it, and I thought you only needed the gold star version to travel , and I have a passport, so I'm good to go , right?

@ladybeachbum : Did you have to show any kind of i.d. verification such as utility bill, proof of insurance, etc?

@carol888 : It's not pure laziness... Mine expires in Sept '22 and I tried to renew, but the DPS site says I can't renew it yet. Until then, I will travel with my passport.

I realize but the majority are ignoring and so if you are flying in October, expect an extra hour for the idiots that were lazy.
