14-year-old riding bike struck by vehicle in Atascocita

Was it a bicycle or a scooter? I got questions

Yes, too fast. I think the kids riding those scooters should have to take a class on the operation and driving rules/etiquette.

@Reese : I vote for parents not giving their kids these things. Make the the kids push and pedal for Pete's sake. Most kids need more exercise-not less.

They need to understand the rules of the road and that they need to follow them....just seen 2 boys on scooters breeze through the 4 way stop sign on Pinehurst Trail....SMH

@West-Tex : So has it been determined if she was riding an electric scooter or a regular bike? Those electric scooters do go way too fast. I've seen a lot of people complaining about kids riding these on sidewalks/walkways, but I think it's way too dangerous for them to ride in the streets. They are just a bad idea, period.

My opinion is they shouldn't be on the street to start with , they're not street legal to start with.

If they have pedals, they are street legal. I wish that they weren't, but they are. I think there is also a designated max speed limit for them to be legal, but most are legal.

Idk about this incident but this also happened today in Spring. 😔
I know kids don't think sometimes but I wish they knew how dangerous these streets can be.

Scooters do not have pedals there is a difference between motorized bicycle and a scooter.

I was trying my best to word it right. My son had a little boy in his daycare class who got hit by a car in Kingwood while riding his bike about a year or 2 after they left. He sadly passed away.
