Floyd Catmae : I was on BW8 heading towards Wilson Rd when a tire flew and bounced through the air one car in front of me. No idea where it came from.

eighteen : Several years ago, this happened on BW8 right before the Aldine Westfield exit. Small pick-up was on the inside lane and a truck on the Westbound side of BW8 had a tire fly out of the back. It flew into the truck windshield and killed the driver. I was caught in that traffic coming home from work one afternoon.

Catmae : If me or the driver in front of me weren't paying attention... hard to imagine what could've happened. We were in the far left-hand lane.

Catmae : I think it's impossible. So sorry that happened to your friend. If we were a split second faster or that tire a split second later, SMH.
Catmae : Oh man, that's terrible! I've heard stories similar... sheet metal, saw blades, pipe etc. but never have had it hit that close to home. You just never know, but I don't trust any of those yahoos on the road, hauling or not.
