According to the Harris County Pct. 1 Constable's Office, the mixed-breed puppy, named Nyla, was rescued from a home in Humble and taken to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for treatment. The puppy is believed to be around three months old. The constable's office says Nyla had multiple broken bones in various stages of healing, which can indicate ongoing abuse. The puppy is continuing to recover from its injuries. An adult dog was also rescued from the same home, officials say. According to the constable's office, that dog had a broken rib and at least one object resembling a pellet lodged in its skin. The dog is also being cared for by the Houston SPCA.

I can honestly say that I would not feel the least bit bad if this 18-year-old went to jail. And, after saying that, I wonder what type of upbringing (if any) this young boy (certainly not a "man") has had and/or why he would do something like this? Whatever the reason, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for harming an innocent living being! While I wonder, my empathy lies with the puppy! This poor little puppy (pictured) certainly does not deserve such cruelty! No animal/living being deserves to be abused! 😡 *** Years ago, we had a Great Dane/Black Lab/German Shepherd mix that my mother-in-law saved from cruelty. (The children were hitting the precious puppy with sticks and throwing lit firecrackers at him. She found and spoke to the dad of the children and he said that he did not care and they did not want the dog ..... terrible parent. She took the puppy home, but she could not afford to keep him, so my husband and I took him home with us. We named him Jodi. He was the sweetest boy. Ends up that he saved me from a water moccasin that was luring in our garage. Thankfully, neither one of us got bit. He alerted me to the presence of the snake. (So glad that I paid attention)!!! During another incident, he saved me from being abducted, but that is another story! Let's just say, he was "Great Dane" size and had big mouth full of teeth along with a blood-curdling growl that aided him in protecting "his" people ... lol)!
