$13 Million Dollar Law Enforcement Driving Training Center Planned for Humble
Harris County is planning a new emergency vehicle training facility at 2316 Atascocita Road in Humble, according to a recent state project filing. The proposed D.R.I.V.E. Center would include a 6,211-square-foot support building and a specialized driving course designed for law enforcement and first-responder training. Planned features include a precision track, simulated city streets, classrooms, and vehicle bays.
The facility is expected to serve the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Harris County Fire Marshal's Office and constable offices across all eight precincts. Training could cover pursuits, felony traffic stops, precision driving and hazardous weather conditions. The approximately $13 million project is funded through a voter-approved bond. Construction is currently expected to begin in November, with completion planned for the third quarter of 2027. Project details and timelines remain subject to change.
