I cut my car insurance in half by getting rid of Allstate. They use to be good and then around covid they got to where they were not very helpful. I never would see Sean up there when I would stop by and every policy renew would go up about 20% or more. When I ask why it was always thats the way it is. Should have canceled them years ago.

@dac2010 :
I did the same. My car is not being driven though. I have to find better rates or lower the homes. I am thnking just sell a lot that needs insurance since my husband died. Same as you, long time customer and you can't get anyone to talk.

Harris County is becoming like a third world country. They drive with no insurance and have no consequences when they cause damage but the innocent party is stuck with the increased rates. If you drive without insurance and cause an accident, you should lose every penny you have and if it still doesn't cover the damage, I am not opposed to hard labor to pay the innocent person back. Also, a loss of ALL welfare programs you receive should be automatic.

@Pinehurst :
Agreed. We have the same thing going on here. I read about hit and runs nearly daily. It is absurd. I'm going to have cameras installed in both vehicles so that I can prove a hit and run. I don't need anyone accusing us of negligent driving when the other party is the one who caused the accident.

I saw on KPRC? I think it was, that number is 14%.
This also means that they are not registering their vehicles so the state loses out on perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars a year across the state
I never understood why there wasn't more aggressive, ticketing, and towing of unregistered vehicles

I switched to "Progressive" a couple years ago when my previous provider raised my renewal rate significantly(with NO claims ever made on any insurance company of mine in my whole history of driving)....When I got their quote they were a bit cheaper than what I was paying before the rate raise by my old insurer....At first I thought it must be a "lure them in gimmick"....You know, give them the "teaser rate" and then hit them with a big increase next renewal....When next renewal came up, I was pleasantly surprised it was only a modest increase, like $20 for a 6 month policy on 2 vehicles.....And that's happened 4 times already....No "big rate increase" like I expected so far....So, I've stuck with them....I can't tell you if their "claims service" is all that and a bag of chips because, well, I've never had any claims.....

I have two "older vehicles"(10+ years old) that are "paid off"....My policy is liability only with uninsured motorist and I pay $375 every 6 months for both of them(2 cars, one $375 premium)....

Well, I paid the $80 for the car to sit there because if I didn't it would make my houses insurance go up. It is just no win but I can't have my homes not protected. There is a nice lady that put up me not happy about what the benefit was to keep it. I'm going to sell everything and live under the bridge!!!
