W39 donates 500 backpacks to Humble ISD students in needHUMBLE, Texas (CW39) - CW39 Houston is helping students in Humble ISD start the school year strong. On Tuesday, CW39 donated 500 backpacks to the district from the station's Ready, Set, School! event, held in partnership with Bel Furniture, Terry Bryant Accident & Injury Law and Academy Sports + Outdoors.As part of the donation, 30 of those backpacks were delivered to Lakeland Elementary School. CW39's own Sharron Melton was on campus to talk with district leaders about how the extra supplies will support students.Humble ISD has 18 Title I schools, serving nearly 30,000 underserved children.
