🚨⚠️ PRECINCT 4 LIVE: CHILD ON SCOOTER STRUCK BY HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER! 
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office are searching for the driver who fled the scene after striking a child riding a scooter in the 6800 block of Hot Creek Trace at Fountain Lilly Drive. The child sustained a hand injury and was treated by emergency crews. Thankfully, the injuries are not life-threatening. Deputies are actively investigating and working to identify the suspect driver. Anyone with information is urged to contact our office.

I have to say if this is the same "kid" that drives through this neighborhood not following the laws then it's no wonder. He flies through here without stopping or even checking before he goes through intersections. He has no regard for anyone else. Blackhorse77 : I have also seen reckless scooter drivers. Still, driver should have stopped. Maybe he/she has learned a lesson to be more attentive to vehicles.
I hate people who don't stop especially with kids. Glad child is ok
Maxsmom : If they didn't stop for a child, doubt they would if they struck someone pet.
I saw the police there this morning but had no clue what happened. I am glad the kid is okay but Blackhorse77 is right they do need to learn to abide by the rules of the road when riding around. There are a few in our neighborhood that take a walk on the wild side when riding their scooters.

Don't know who's at fault but should have stop. I've seen scooters blow stop signs cut in front of cars without looking. Sooner or later it's going to happen.

There was a snip about this on ND this am Apparently a man seen this happen and turned it all over to the police as he should have.

Blackhorse77 : We have the same thing in our neighborhood. People complain on social media but nothing gets done. All kinds of stuff with kids running loose.

Blackhorse77: According to the person who reported it to police, it was a young lady who was on the scooter on her way to school. The police now have the license plate of the hit & run driver as well as a few others who witnessed it but just kept driving, never stopping to lend aid or be witnesses on record.
