Out at sunrise this morning doing a dove census for TPWD. I have 18 points in Kingwood/Atascocita area to stop at for two minutes and listen for three different species of Doves. In the past I have done Deer, Alligator. Frogs, colonial water birds, and insect counts. If it walks, crawls, swims, or flys, TPWD counts it……
Do they have the same census questions as we humans? 
Imagine trying to count the number of Monarchs in my Pic attached from a Monarch sanctuary near Monterrey Bay, California. The dark "leaves" are mostly butterflies.

KathyMarshall : White Wings, Mourning, and European Collared.Here are a couple of white wing doves for you in Kingwood. LOL!
Daiquiri : I have specific coordinates that I stop at. This morning I scared up half a dozen in a yard just before I got to one of my points I get out of the car and look around, If I could have seen them they would have counted, but alas I was too far away. Finished up this morning and got home and had 4 WW in my back yard...

Smokeybear : I can tell you it is HOT out there! I mowed the back but decided the front can wait. Dogs needed to poop and they are priority!
