A man meeting up with a female from a FB Marketplace transaction was shot during the interaction at a different location. He then drove himself to Laurel Springs Lane near Hamblen Rd and got assistance. From there the man was transported to the hospital.

The Kingwood area is getting really bad these days when it comes to crime.....Making the news all the time now.....

I wonder why people don't meet in front of a fire station or police station for transactions like this.

I have sold things by "Porch pick up" I adverstise and if they like it, I place it on my front porch where there is also a power outlet it case they need to test it. I ask them to leave an evelope of the cash under my wishshield wiper of my car in the drive. Never had a problem. I figure ..if they take it and don't pay..they needed it more than me.

TortieMama : That's better than nothing, but, for myself, I wouldn't want to give out my address. Honestly, I just donate things to our nearby St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. They do so much good, and I have been richly blessed. I don't give enough to charity anyhow so the least that I can do is donate gently used items to a well-run thrift shop.

RajunCajun : Good for you!!!! I have found on FB marketplace...the strangest things can be hugely popular. When my DD moved out ( the first time ) she left behind some trinkets. When I showed them to her she said just throw them away. I said, how about I try to sell them on FB marketplace and I will give you the money. She was shocked when I sold them. One was a little Gnome figurine. I actually had a bidding war on it! « Back to Chat
