Record-scorching heat wave coming to Texas this week

Yesterday was beautiful! We spent most of the day outside.

I don't mind the Houston heat. Just hate to see my spinning electric meter. Not looking forward to the summer bills.

Summer heat doesn't bother me. I grew up in the Panhandle with a big window air conditioner. Of course, that house could fit in my great room. Why did we think we need huge homes to cool? Seriously, I am in my bedroom with the two big dogs with ceiling fan going with a blanket. They feel very cool. Weird.

West-Tex: When DH and I announced that we were relocating to Houston for retirement, one of my biggest reasons was due to lack of snow. I really didn't want to deal with that as we age. But people gasped in shock, saying, "But the HUMIDITY is awful!" My reply remains the same, "Yes, but I don't have to SHOVEL THAT!"

That is sure true and if it was to snow it would not last but a day or two. Husbands family is in Indiana and it can be cold and snowy and it isn't that cold for me. I was surprised the first time I was there. They probably thought I was nuts with no coat on!
