I said if (when) I get another washer/dryer they'll be old school with dials and an agitator. F all these fancy computers. And who needs wifi to wash their clothes?

MrsT : That's what I've got. 25 years old, replaced the water pump once but she keeps on ticking. Same thing with my dryer, a replaced drum roller, door sensor, and the timer thingy. Both still going strong…

I bought a new washer/dryer when we moved to Atascocita (in 2020).

What brand?.....Please don't tell me it was Maytag/Whirlpool, those are my faves as far as long lasting and easy to repair is concerned...

Yeah when I got mine replaced the repair guy said they're made to last only about 5 years. I got a no frills Speed Queen and like it. I think I've had it about 4 years so we'll have to see how well it holds up.

We have a Whirlpool washer with agitator. I love it. My son and grandsons have very dirty laundry and this washer gets everything clean . I've tried front loaders and agitator -free toploaders , and the old agitator models are the best. I do at least 10 loads a week and this washer just keeps on truckin'.

EddyFree : GE. But I bought when there were appliance shortages. Total pain in the neck.

Smokeybear : That's what I've heard. I told dh Speed Queen because I don't feel like making a career of buying appliances. I just bought a dishwasher-Bosch for the win.

I am afraid to say that with all 3 houses the washer/dryers all have been long timers. I do have an extra set I took out of the rental just to pretty it up so I can go back to it. I have a refrigerator at home that we replaced.
