Heavy police presence in the 5700 block of Upper Lake Drive. Upon arriving, a female victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was confirmed deceased.

Harris County Sheriff's OfficeHarris County Sheriff's Office investigators have arrested and charged 44-year-old Thomas Sonnier with Murder in connection with the shooting death of 39-year-old Colencia Davidson.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Precinct 4 deputies responded to the 5700 block of Upper Lake Drive, where Davidson was located unresponsive in front of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Sonnier, the father of Davidson's children, had reportedly been in a physically abusive relationship with the victim. The two had recently separated. He is now in custody at the Harris County Jail.
Davidson was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.

Rosey : Absolutely. Which is why so many stay--or they have no place to go. Or they are afraid to have their families and friends involved because they don't want them to be harmed. I wish more schools would have classes on relationships and early warning signs so that they can get out early before things escalate.
