I agree that Covid appears to be more contagious, but the we have to remember that the flu numbers are with a vaccine and Tamiflu. Also, we do not test for the flu like we do for Covid. No one goes and gets tested for the flu just because they were in the same room as someone with the flu. How do we know that there aren't asymptomatic flu carriers? If you've ever worked in a school or in child care, then you know that they will start dropping like flies as soon as the first flu case shows up, and that you will be begging for Kleenex by Thanksgiving. In my opinion, this will be with us for good and we have to figure out how to live with it.
