@West-Tex : Well if they have time to to file a lawsuit, and everything that entails, they have time to get those poor test scores up.

@eighteen : lot more to it than that. Part of the problem is the testing itself.

I believe they lack standing. Suit will go nowhere.

@ParksideRes : That and the constant classroom disruption from the kids. Teaching is unbelievably hard these days. You have either negligent parenting or helicoptering, there is just no normalcy anymore.

@Yep : with the amount of testing, there is little time to actually teach anything. You need Practice tests before hand and then only have time to teach cherry picked items. It's awful.

@ParksideRes : Yet every public school district in the state of Texas falls under the TEA umbrella. Every public school has to meet the same state requirements. Why is Houston ISD doing so poorly? They need the better leadership, IMO.
Also, if it takes so much time to teach, how do they have time for a lawsuit (which was my point to begin with)? Isn't this energy taking away from energy that should be used to teach students?

@eighteen : the attorneys handle all that. I don't know HISD specifics but it's looks like a lot of negligence to get this far.
