They hire alot of handicapped people that otherwise would not be working . They also help the people to live on their own. Just to name a few .

@Itsme : Perhaps. But the CEO of Goodwill receives a very high salary. I feel St. Vincent de Paul uses donations much more wisely.

So do alot of other CEO's that don't deserve it. I forget what Goodwill's donation percentage but it was high at one time.
