With the yearbook and media makes it seem like this is not an alternative lifestyle, but the norm. On tv when there is always a gay character. At a pride parade on tv shows there are 100,000 or more 'gay' couples. In reality they are still a very small percent of the population.
I teach my kids tolerance in all things different, acceptance is something they must decide on their own!

@SteelerNation Probably because people like you may belittle them and make them feel like they're anything less than human.
If you're proud of who you are then what do you care about what a handful of people (people who you've made it clear mean nothing to you) think?
@Luckysis When I see people unrightfully causing a big enough stir over something that has nothing to do with them at all. That might make those kids just wanting to live their lives feel un accepted and feel as though they are less than. I feel it's wrong. I will stand up. I will always stand up. In person or on this ******** drama forum for adults who have absolutely nothing to do than ***** about things that don't really matter. The fact y'all can't respond with anything other than complete ******** responses should show enough to what kind of simple minded person y'all really are.
I guess the new people missed the posts from those of us who responded positively about LGBTQ people on the various threads regarding this yearbook. Maybe it would surprise people to know that we exist here, as apparently we are all part of some ultra conservative hate filled hive mind. I think lumping all members of this forum into whatever catagory suits your POV is just as bad as labeling done to other groups.....but that's just me. I'm not one to fight hatred with more hatred. I will also add that although strangers have prejudged this forum and its members, we are in actuality, a diverse group of people with various opinions on any given topic. There is no hive mind here. We are composed of liberal and conservative democrats/independents/republicans who have plenty of things going on in their lives outside of this forum.......although I personally am having a good laugh at all the negative adjectives being tossed out by small-minded newbies. I think the "frigid church ladies" comment was my favorite so far 😂😂😂
One more comment... I should have added that although we frequently disagree on here on any number of topics this is usually a place of comradery. You do not have to agree with people on 100% of every topic to be friends, and I believe that everyone here is a person you can count on when the need arises.
@AlettertoElise I did not mean to group the entire forum together. I am sorry for that. I understand that not all of the members to this forum will think the same. But it is the certain members of this group that give it a bad name and that has now a larger coverage over something as simple as hating on 4 kids who told there story and 2 kids from yearbook who approved their page on a yearbook that is for the kids that graduated in it. Not the parents to judge.
@chaserz1, thanks! Usually this is a really fun/funny place as the regulars keep things light hearted for the most part. However, when things get ugly we tend to make the news! Bwahahahaha
@Chaserz1 This forum represents a microcosm of our local society. To pretend that the ideas or opinions of any or all groups may not be represented here would be incredibly naive. You won't change anyone's opinions on here by attacking them, but maybe you might through friendly dialogue but plan on it not happening, just an opportunity to converse with folks you don't have to agree with.
@Chaserz1 By the way, it is a commendable characteristic to step in and speak out in defense of others. Don't lose it.
