Child gets second-degree burns from Humble ISD playground slide

Floyd : Kids are missing out on the merry go round!! That was my favorite!

redneckroy : We had one at home, and we used wax paper to make it faster! That way, we could really bust our rumps. Me and the sibs would get the wax paper out and run it up and down the slide multiple times. Rinse and repeat.

West-Tex : I got flung off one and totally trampled. Survival of the fittest which I obviously was not. lol. I remember yelling my head off for someone to come to my rescue. I don't recally anyone doing that. I'm not sure what happened after that, but I suspect the recess bell rang for class to resume. That's how I likely survived-saved by the bell.

Y'all should see the spinny **** they have at playgrounds nowadays. I had to have some preschooler help me stop one, LOL.Then there's that circle thing all the kids stand on. It spins as they walk around it. The faster they go, the faster it goes, and there's nothing to hang on to.

West-Tex: So sad that a disabled child suffered like that. I'm shocked that in this day and age ANYONE would build a Sliding Board from metal! I've only seen plastic ones! Not like the ones from our day:
