I don't understand why dog owners don't put a tag on the collar. Even if the dog is chipped, its sooooo much easier to get the dog back to its owners with a contact info tag. I know I'll sound like a big ol' meanie, but I don't want to put a dirty, stinky, potentially parasite infected dog into my family vehicle and take it to get scanned for a chip.

So many dogs getting lost/found/dumped these days!!

@Sammee Yes it's ideal to have a tag in addition to being chipped, but a lot of dogs while escaping manage to loose their collars and tags fall off. for me it's not the "rough" looking dogs I think about getting in my car.. It more of the ok you're not the friendliest so once I have you in the car are you going to chew on me types I worry about lol

This dog looks like the same dog from this post - this lady found him in Duessen park- I wonder if he escaped her house too?!

Ok I'm in possession of this dog he does seem like might have ran away from his owner but who knows how long ago. No tags no chip. He also seemed to have been abused he's very timid and sweet but if approached all of the sudden he bows his head and lays as if he's gonna get hit. Who ever wants to claim him better have pictures and verify some information or specific descriptions . And still contemplating keeping he definitely been mistreated.

Harris county chips them for $10 and a tag from Walmart is $6 complete with name and phone number. A harness doesn't come off as easily as a collar. Funny thing is none of the dogs have run or escaped since being chipped.

@lola I have no clue. I assumed because Susanbanthony made the post she had the dog or a close friend. Last night she messaged me her # to contact a man whose dog it might be when I asked. Not sure where dogsok came into it other then when she posted she had dog now. I'm confused now. I'm wondering if that man ever called her to find out if dog was his lost dog.
