I don't know if it's just me getting older, but it seemed like there were more fireworks than usual last night. And, being the accounting-type that I am, I wonder about all the money that was spent on that stuff!!!
The funny thing is, I actually did wake up right around the time that you posted that. Lol. I got up and made Birthday Breakfast for DH. Mmmmmmmmmm BACON! ☺
Yep, they are! We dropped about 150. Totally worth it to be able to stay at home, avoid crowds, drunks and traffic, not to.mention how dang excited my boys were to blow up our 150 bucks!
I was thinking the same. I don't really ever remember this much neighborhood stuff for the 4th. New Years yes. But this really seemed like a lot. Almost all our area was done by midnight. But boy it was live for a while. One idiot behind us still going at 1:30 also.
I was quite impressed with our neighbors and their fireworks displays. Got to see some good shows and enjoyed getting to see the money they spent. Thankfully my neighborhood was pretty quiet by 11 pm.
I finally got to sleep with a half a bottle of wine. I guess the recession is over. There were more fireworks this year. For me it will be the Overlook from now on. Much cheaper and safer.
It was odd here because the Kemah fireworks on the 3rd were way more awesome than the ones on the 4th! I'm thinking something went wrong on the finale because it was about 1/4 as long but really bright like maybe some stuff went off at the same time or something.
