Wow. didn`t know the cop shot and killed the guy. My dad just called me with details.

eighteen : Atascocita North. Off duty HCSO deputy had put his small child in car seat and suspect tried to enter the car to carjack. He then wouldn't follow deputy commands and ended up with multiple wounds. Pronounced at hospital.

Catmae : That's what happens when you don.t fall directions...

Thank goodness he had a gun. If not, who knows what the monster would have done to the child.

Another case of FAFO. If he would have just obeyed the deputy, he would've lived to try and steal again.

Saw this also. She took him to the hospital sunday and they released him. She said he was talking to himself and doing push ups in the street acting like he was in the service. I would have been scared as well if he had come up on me. Especially if I had my kid with me.

walkchalk1 : The problem is that our laws regarding mental health don't allow hospitals to keep them for long enough. I worked in the legal department of a hospital. I prepared judicial commitments for short-term holds and evaluations of mental health patients. It was constant catch and release. We had several patients who were committed four times in one year. Very sad. Then, we had a judge who forced us to release a patient who clearly was not yet stabilized. The patient provided an address that our social workers weren't sure existed. Sure enough, a few days later our attorney gets a phone call from the sheriff's office inquiring because they had picked this patient up off the streets. Our attorney said we had been forced to release the patient and we could not take the patient. The patient would have been far better off within the confines of the hospital. Our laws need to address this but it won't happen.
