Body found in Lake Houston near Crosby

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man whose body was found at 18000 Canyon Cove about 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday (May 3).

The identity of the man is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Williamson and K. Ferguson reported:

A resident called 911 after seeing a body floating in Lake Houston near the above address. The man's body was recovered and paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the manner and cause of death.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.

There was a boating accident on Lk Houston that happened recently & they far as I know had not found that man 's body that was driving one of the boats . Hopefully for his family this will be his body .

They found his body a few days after accident not too far from where it happened.

This is near lake shadows.

Oh I now remember !!!! Sometimes it takes a reminder but I do now remember he was found . I don't remember anyone missing do any of you ? Who knows someone could have dumped a body from out of state .

He was drowned and it happened a day or 2 ago not from the boating accident

Wonder if he had on swimwear or murdered. Homicide must mean he was probably shot don't you think

Lucky you being out in California ! My grandson is going to college out there & loves it & we believe he may not come back to Tx . But you said this area is dear to you did you grow up here ?

HOUSTON â€“ Police are investigating a drowning after a manâ€™s body was found floating in Lake Houston Wednesday evening.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called at 6 p.m. to a home at Bluff View Drive and Deep Anchor Way near Lake Houston.
When HPD and the Lake Patrol Boat arrived, they found an adult black male dead from an apparent drowning.
Officers stated there appears to be no trauma, and it is unclear how he ended up in the water. The victim does live near the water where the body was found
