"First tropical wave of 2025"!!

Catmae : Are you ready? I know that I have been procrastinating. I don't like to think about it.

This wave isn't going to amount to anything according to the long range models. The Hurricane Center probably put this out to bring awareness to the approaching season. Of course we in Houston are still a bit gun shy after Beryl last year…

TortieMama : Not in any way. Since I sold our home, with the wonderful whole-home generator, I always dread this time of year.

I've already been praying for God's protection during this year's hurricane season. I still haven't finished putting my house back together since a tree fell on it during Beryl.

Catmae : Oh of course. I consdiered one about 6 years ago but didn't pull the trigger on it. 11K at the time which no doubt is more now. I was talking with a friend who said she was thinking of it too but...11K would buy alot of motel rooms!

TortieMama : Problem with that is how far do you have to go to find a hotel with vacancies?

Catmae : Hugs to you. I don't blame you. Lack of electricity is the worst. For me, its the anxiety of not knowing when power will be restored.

RajunCajun : Actually with Beryl, my DD had had enough and found a La Quinta just up the road in New Caney with power and openings. I think she has saved their phone number in her phone for future use! LOL~!

TortieMama: Too bad we procrastinators have missed on the Tax-Free-Weekend for Emergency Preparedness which was the first weekend in August!

KathyMarshall : August? I thought there was a tx free weekend for hurricane stuff in May. Anyway, yeah....that ship has sailed.

TortieMama: My apologies, friend, the tax free weekend was the last weekend in APRIL not August! Sorry!

KathyMarshall : Oh okay. No worries. I was more concerned about my memory! LOL~!
