brightlights : I believe he was allowed to go to school in Colorado. His probation had some kind of stipulation about him returning to spend time in jail once a month, or during the Summer months. I cannot remember exactly, but I do remember thinking that it would be costly having to come back to Texas so often for his jail time.

LifesABeach : Many high schools participate. When mine were there, IIRC, the program was more concentrated toward Texas schools, but I don't know if it has expanded to other states. It's a worthwhile project, imo! eighteen : His parents took a real proverbial beating after this. I just remember feeling that what-would-you-do kind of thing. The agonizing pull between being in favor of consequences vs. the unbreakable instinct to protect your child. I don't think anyone who hasn't been in these shoes would have any idea how they would react. One of the girls' dads was a teacher at AHS at the time.

I'm curious if anyone's kids had much to say about the event. It has been years since I have seen this presentation.
