Here's the deal. This was a tragedy all around, and so many lives have been affected. What's done can not be undone. Placing blame to him, or him, or her, or her, or them, or them, is completely futile. We, personally, have been blessed with not having to experience this kind of pain with ours so far. We all raise them the best we know how, right? Teenagers will be teenagers. But if there's one thing I have learned through our years and years of parenting, it's to Never Say Never. So for all of you sitting on your high horses, arm-chair judging? You never know. Just remember that. I do. Even the best of kids from the best of families fall sometimes. You're not perfect, and neither are your kids. Sorry, but it's the truth. Ouch, right? Btw, we know these families. Mine lost some friends. Don't for a second think this could never happen to you. Just pray it doesn't. Glass houses and all that, y'all. Let these families deal with the aftermath, and thank God above that you don't have to. Lots of room for prayer here, including me, who needs to pray for whom most consider the "bad guy." #humbled

All Actions Have Consequences!!! Prior to acting, stop and think WHAT IF:

Kids tend to get into regrettable life changing situations because they act on impulse (and/or peer pressure) and don't consider WHAT IF something goes wrong ...........

Well I was a younger adult & left a party on the Point in Atascocita & drove home through the subdivison drunk to my house in the Oaks where I lived at that time . And yes the next morning I was horrified about 1 being drunk & 2 being damn stupid enough to think it was ok for me to drive home . So here's an adult with at least 1 of my 2 kids being a teenager at that time . So it's not just kids making bad choices & I do believe this was my no 1 stupid choice . But I had very serious talks with our kids & I told them about this & that it wasn't happening again & it hasn't . But I'm not stupid & I know it's not legal for high school kids to drink Alcohol . My kids were told it's against the law so I for sure don't want you doing it & alcohol every single day takes lives by car wrecks or boating accidents & kids doing things they wouldn't do if they were sober . So we don't want you 2 drinking ((( BUT ))) if you decide to do it DO NOT GET IN YOUR CAR & DRIVE HOME OR GET INTO ANOTHER PERSON"S car & come home . You call us & one of us will come & get you . You will not be in trouble if you call us ! But you'll be in big trouble if you drive home drunk or someone else drives you home . I don't want you taking someone's word that they have not been drinking . I don't think we can ask our kids & expect them to be perfect because only Christ is perfect . We just do the best we can hopefully & maintain a good talking relationship with our children & pray for them .
