I will cry like a baby. I don't even know what to do in an earthquake. That was not part our school drills. I don't have school desks at my house. 😭

I was in one while visiting California, years ago. I was sitting on the toilet, getting ready to hop in the shower. We were staying in a Howard Johnson's or something, right down the street from the Santa Monica pier. It was crazy!

EDIT: I was sitting on the toilet NAKED, by the way. (The toilet started rocking and swaying back and forth.)

They happen often up here in Oklahoma; I experienced my first one back in 1987 and they are not as bad as the ones in California. They blame them on all the fracking for oil but there are many fault lines in the state.

Catmae : If you were staying at a HOJOs, then that was a really, really long time ago.

Olaf : It must've been. I thought it was someone's house. 👀

eighteen : You could have been correct...
Maybe it was this guy who played for the Mets.

Olaf : It was 1990 or 91. It was similar to a Howard Johnson's, but may have been another owner.

Looks like it was The Pacific Sands Motel. Right across the street from the pier. We were able to walk to the pier from our motel room. DH was walking on the outside balcony when the earthquake hit and it was swaying back and forth too. I could hear him yelling all the way to our bathroom.
