I had witnessed something awkward today. My 80 year old parents live in Kingwood Glen and are having some work done on their back patio. So I check their outside cameras from time to time to make sure everything is going good. My dad would call me a few times as things progressed. He also likes to sit in his rocking chair with the garage door open and tell me about the comings and going of people. While we were talking politics, he would stop and say he just saw three little kids on one scooter going back and forth on his street. He was just in awe that the scooter could handle all three of them. So, while we were still talking he abruptly said he had to go. Okay, love you bye is what I tell him really quick. Then I got curious and pulled up the driveway camera to make sure everything was okay. I witnessed my sweet father preceed to the end of the driveway and ask the kids if he could take a photo of them. They quickly posed and went on their way. I panicked a little because that was inappropriate for him to do and totally out of character of my father. He sent me the photo to share what he saw and called me. I told him that was probably not wise to do and that now he will be dubbed the neighborhood creep. He didn't understand and didn't think he did anything wrong. I told him that doesn't matter when their momma bear doesn't know you. Unfortunately this is one of his many problems with dementia. Welp, momma bear did approach him and asked him to delete the photo. He was so embarrassed. I felt so bad for him but I totally respect momma bear for being proactive for her kids. But it really was out of his character. Thought I'd share.

#msg2208419Andi7 : I totally understand! It's sad that it has to be like this but that's the world we live in now! Thank you for sharing!
#msg2208436Andi7 : Bless his heart ...
Ya know…. Maybe I have dementia, also. When has it become inappropriate for a sweet old man to want to take a picture of precious children having fun. He wasn't seeking out anyone…just sitting in his own driveway. Times are twisted.
I am sorry for your stress Andi!

I guess….it has been a long time since I had little children. My kids are probably your age.
Times are so sad when strangers can't show appreciation/acknowledgment for others children. 😠however I would feel the same if it were my young children

Yeah. Nowadays you don't know if the kids are being groomed for something awful. Or if the photo will be posted on social media and used in AI nonsense. Hard to know. I feel for you and your Dad. Dementia is rough.

I don't get it. A man sitting in his own garage gets in trouble for taking a photo of children playing in the street in front of his house. Suddenly everyone decides he has dementia and is stalking????

#msg2208540When pedos and sex traffickers started crawling out from underneath their rocks. I would Lose. My. ****. if I were Mama Bear in this scenario.
Am very sorry, I misunderstood. You have a wonderful family that cares for him at home. God bless all of you.
