Light bill recs?

I got a $200+ light bill and considered living like a pilgrim with a lantern and a candle😂 Can someone recommend a good electric company and tell me what's your average bill? It seems like I've been paying $150- $180, then it jumped to $200+!

It's a stressful game. No one can really tell you a company that's going to be cheapest, it fluctuates daily and there's a ton of different plans. I would avoid the big ones though like Reliant and TXU, they're expensive af.
Go to www.powertochoose.org and compare them. Watch out for time of use plans and those godawful credit for a particular usage plans. That's the only site that isn't riddled with them. I hate switching.

I wasn't as shocked at my electric bill as I was at my gas bill. I don't really use the oven in the summer. The only two things that I do run are the dryer and of course, the water heater. And I have that turned down way low. It's in the Attic so it's like a hundred degrees up there.

babypineapple : Need to look at your kWh (on bill), then divide your total bill amount by your total monthly kWh usage. Then head to:

choosetexaspower.org

I'm on average billing with a locked in rate...bills average between $170 - $200 (still goes down in the winter), depending on seasons. 2930 SF/1-story.

My bill is $385.00 2880sf house with solar panels. I was told my solar panels would produce 83% of my energy needs. Looks like someone lied to me. Might have to sue SunRun and get my money back.
