After spending last Saturday at the Woodlands Methodist Church for training, I never realized how pretty and clean the community was. Beautiful homes, parks and lakes with residents taking advantage of the amenities offered. Everything seemed new and inviting. It's very tempting for our last house facing retirement.

I'm hoping to stay here until it's time for me to go to a retirement community. I do like the woodlands but it doesn't make sense for me to buy a new home at this stage in my life.

This IS my retirement home. My area is very special, most of the homes are owner occupied with residents lovingly caring for their neighbors and homes. So sorry that y'all have difficulties and are unhappy in Atascocita.

I lived in Atascocita for almost 40 years, raised my family, involved with schools, made friends and loved my community.
However in this stage of my journey I am so happy that I left my comfort zone and live where I do….planting new seeds down the road.
It was a good move😎

@West-Tex : Mostly I agree, however, my only child is divorcing and moving to another state and my siblings have also moved to far away counties. So my options are dwindling and I'm choosing to stay put

At this stage in life, I'd consider going some place that has four seasons. I'm tiring of 9 months of warm to hot weather. Not to mention worrying about hurricanes.

@susanbanthony : I hated selling my home over where you are. I loved it there.

Well I moved to the Houston area in 1980 and lived in Atascocita area since 1995. If I had a choice I would be out of here. After traveling so much back and forth then I realized that the more you move the more it stays the same . The only thing that changes is the location .
