@Itsme : My hairstylist's kid broke his leg on an e-scooter. Hairstylist didn't want kid to have it. Her dh bought it for kid anyway. What a jerk dh. I haven't seen kid riding in our hood recently so I'm guessing that is the end of the e-scooter.

we have a couple kids riding gas minibikes on our street. No helmets or lights. wish parents would get charged.

@Enzo : They're not street legal. Can't title/license them, no VIN. They're considered off-road RVs. Can't even legally ride them in public parks or bike trails in TX - private property with consent only. Also, they don't have pedals. What a dumb thing to get a kid. They'd probably rather have a parent than another "peer." 🙄

@West-Tex : Hopefully this kid is OK now. It's so dangerous on the road sometimes the people drive and aren't as many as possible, watching closely and sometimes the kids aren't watching closely. And as far as E bike go, they are all over the place. These kids just go between the cars jump off the sidewalks with those things. So dangerous. I hope the student was wearing a helmet, but at that age they usually don't.
