@susanbanthony : But will you be the first to complain if a tree limb takes out a power line?

Why are they doing that right after the trees start to bloom?
Should've done trimming in winter or earlier in spring. Keeping trees healthy is safer than butchering them at the wrong time of year.

@texas2011 :
probably a continuous process, especially around here - - never ending battle of cutting trees off of lines.

not like they lay off the crew for the three months of spring

@texas2011 : there's too many trees to do that. They literally have to Crews year-round doing this.

@texas2011 : Well it's like this hurricane season is coming in June. Also it does not hurt the non flowering trees. The problem is they just hack them .

I wonder what their rotation schedule is. Are we good for 2-3 years?
I can't imagine they can do it yearly.

I was on the building committee for our EMS station. Part of the plans is a landscape plan. I asked the architect why he had oak trees underneath the power lines along the highway. He said the county requires trees along the front lot line. But there's power lines …. He said I know but they won't approve the plans without them. So the trees were planted underneath the lines the inspector came out said everything looked good. I bit my tongue but I really wanted to tell him he was an idiot. That was six years ago and they are all gone. You don't have to keep them there , just start out with them. Go figure….

You can call Centerpoint and request tree trimming in February, prior to the spring growth. It ends up looking a lot better than if you wait for them to butcher later in the year.
