My Mom's Day Gift to Myself
I mentioned to dh that I bought a few Dad's day gifts for him at Ace Hardware-Kingwood. He said that made him feel bad because he didn't buy me anything. I told him no problem. I'll buy my own gifts. Ha! I bought a hammock chair swing to hang from my big oak tree in the backyard. I had one but it got blechy and kinda moldy so we threw it away. The new chair will be an improvement. It is extra large and is big enough to lie down in it. I also bought a bath pillow to use in my soaker tub. I had been meaning to order one and just never got around to it.

@RajunCajun : So you buy your own Mother's Day gifts? Do you and DH always buy each other gifts on Mother's and Father's Day?

We used to do something like that at Christmas. I would take the wife to Shaw's Jewelry on Montrose. (high end pawn shop)We would walk in and I would say your present is in here some place, go find it. Then I would go to a corner and read a book. At one point she would came back and ask "what's my budget"
Later she would show me her top picks and I would hope one of them was in MY budget. She enjoyed it, for her it wasn't the present rather the hunt.

Thanks. And thanks for the tips. But, honestly, I didn't plan it that way.

Totally agree, my fav gifts are items I purchased for myself. I'm deserving of the best 😇

Now that I'm an old lady with middle aged kids it's more difficult to buy for them. So, my daughter picks out items on Amazon or I get her a gift card from her favorite nail salon. My son gives me an online pick of things he wants. That way everyone gets something they want and I don't have any returns. Same with the grands.

@CarolS : Did they cook for you or take you out on Mother's Day?
