Do you want to earn some volunteer hours? Then you should consider joining VolunTEENs!
This is a volunteer commitment where teens ages 13-18 spend two hours each week shelving materials, shelf reading the collection, preparing simple crafts, and doing other assorted tasks. To qualify, teens must be able to file alphabetically, work independently and follow written and verbal instructions with a minimum of direction. VolunTEENs will need to be capable of bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 20 pounds and pushing fully loaded book carts weighing up to 40 pounds. All new VolunTEENs are required to complete the appropriate application and attend the mandatory orientation.
Important Dates:
Wednesday, December 27th at 10 AM: Application available at the service desk
Friday, January 12th at 5 PM: Application due date. Late applications are not accepted.
Saturday, January 20th at 10:30 AM: Date and time of the MANDATORY orientation.
January 22nd - May 17th: Spring VolunTEEN session.
