Museum of Fine Arts Houston Art Camp
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) teams up with Harris County Public Library to introduce children and their parents to great art and children's literature.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) teams up with Harris County Public Library to introduce children and their parents to great art and children's literature. This summer, the MFAH is excited to bring an education program, Heart for Art!, developed by the Van Gogh Museum in The Netherlands. The curriculum consists of 5 interactive, playful lessons about Vincent van Gogh, and his materials, techniques, and use of color.
Each day participants will have a lively, interactive discussion while looking at images of paintings and sculpture. The MFAH Teaching Artist leading the program will share a related storybook and lead the group in the process of creating their own work of art. On Friday, the last day of the camp, children and their families will travel to the museum where they will have an engaging gallery visit with the MFAH Teaching Artist and other educators.
Snacks will be provided on this last day of the camp. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or special dietary needs.
**The program is open to children ages 6 to 12 years old. Participants must be able to come Monday through Friday. There will be a field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston with a chartered bus taking us from the Atascocita Library to the museum and back on Friday. A parent or guardian must be able to attend the field trip with the participant.
