| Mission Statement The Lake Houston Musical Arts Society seeks to enrich our community by providing high-quality artistic musical performances utilizing local and regional talent, enhancing the lives of its diverse audience members by encouraging a deeper appreciation for live classical and jazz music, supporting local educational institutions through service, collaboration, and fundraising, and serving as an artistic ambassador to communities beyond the Lake Houston area. |

About Kingwood Big Band The Kingwood Big Band was founded in 2004 under the direction of James Stubbs. Their ‘Cool Evening of Hot Jazz,’ ‘Holiday at the Harbor,’ and Concerts were big hits. The Big Band made its European debut, traveling to Italy and Switzerland, where they participated in the International Jazz Festival in Montreux. Under the direction of Alfredo Velez’, the Big Band repertoire includes music by big band luminaries such as Duke Ellington, Harry James, Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey and others. In 2016, the band performed at the Texas Bandmasters Association annual convention. They also performed twice at the House of Blues in Houston in 2016. The Big Band is now directed by Dennis Eichler.  Dr. Dennis Eichler Artistic Director | About Kingwood Chorale The Kingwood Chorale, under the baton of Artistic Director, Todd Miller, has truly fulfilled the vision of founding director Dudley Cavanaugh, which was to enrich the cultural arts of Kingwood with great classical music events and chamber concerts. This season, we again gather to present the greatest choral music to an even greater community. The Kingwood Chorale and Chamber Orchestra perform primarily classical and sacred choral music. Membership is by audition.
