There are a significant number of first time voters who will be headed out to the polls this November 4th.  If the Presidential Primary elections were any indication, it is safe to say that Kingwood, Atascocita and Humble will be participating in earnest.  With this in mind, here is some information to facilitate your voting experience.

Avoid the lines, Vote Early

Early voting in our area will begin on Monday, October 20, 2008 and run until Friday, October 31, 2008.  Keep in mind that locations for Early Voting are not the same as your voting location on Election Day.  There are two locations locally where residents can cast their votes early:

  • Humble ISD Instructional Support Center, 4810 Magnolia Cove, Kingwood
  • Octavia Fields Branch Library Annex, 1503 South Houston Avenue, Humble

Early voting hours are as follows:

Second Week

Please keep in mind that The Kingwood Public Library will not be available for early voting.  Election Day polling places for November 4th are not yet available.

When you do head out to the polls, here are a few things to remember.

  • Bring your identification documents with you (driver’s license, government issued photo ID, bank statement or utility bill).
  • Bring your voter’s registration card, but don’t panic if you can’t find it.  If you are registered you do NOT need your voter registration card to vote. Each poll location has a list of eligible voters for that location.
  • If records indicate you have moved, you can still vote by signing an address confirmation form.
  • Bring your patience.  The polls will be crowded; democracy in action requires patience.
