Former Atascocita High School Cross Country Team Captain promotes diversity in college - Atascocita

Michael Smith, former Atascocita High School cross country team captain, now a marketing student at Texas State University San Marcos, was interviewed by an English class at Lingnan University, Hong Kong, as part of the of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) business organization. During the hour-long video conference, Hong Kong students asked SIFE members about their daily lives as a student and the American attitudes towards Chinese culture.
Each semester, SIFE coordinates two videoconferences with universities around the world. “Video conferencing has become a popular business communication tool, opening a diverse network with overseas clients,” says Smith. By overcoming language barriers and culture differences, this hands-on experience strengthens the students’ professional development in international business communication.
